Potluck

I began playing with Potluck in the Summer of 1997. Potluck was at the crest of the wave of acid jazz and jazz funk practitioners, and as such we played venues with many of our heroes, including: Greyboy Allstars, Karl Denson, Robert Walters, Vinyl, the B-Side Players, Network Electrik, and Save Ferris. Potluck was founded from a partnership with Dave Elke on guitar, David Deveaux on Rhodes, myself on Bass, and Josh Elkins on Skins. Josh eventually left, to be replaced with Komoki Bunting on drums. We featured a number of guest artists, including Jeff Daub (trumpet), Greg Takamoto (saxophone), Winter (Saxophone), Eric Webber (Saxophone), Ray Dacanay (Congas), Paige, Robin and Obie (volcals), DJ G-Spot, and a few others as we moved along the musical avenues. I left the band in 1999, replaced by a succession of bassists for another 2 years. After my departure, the band released the album “Freelance” in 2000.
